New Joint Editor-in-Chief and 2022 Update

AJAR is now 5 years old, and as a sign of progression, from 1st January 2022 it will now be a refereed journal that is published directly by the ARENA research network, albeit still relying upon Ubiquity Press’s excellent online platform. To mark this change, there will now be two Joint Editors-in-Chief, with Dr Stephen Parnell of Newcastle University joining Professor Murray Fraser in that role. Both Murray and Steve have extensive experience in academic journal publication, including respective stints as editor of The Journal of Architecture. Their aim now for AJAR is to promote even further the openness and potential of Diamond Open Access publication that is free for authors and free for readers – wherever they happen to be located around the world – while at the same time maintaining the highest academic standard of double-blind peer reviewing. We look forward to receiving your essay proposals in future.

AJAR update

Launched first in April 2016, AJAR has since been publishing a wide range of top-quality essays on a huge variety of architectural subjects. Our rigorous editing procedures mean that the acceptance rate is still only around 10% of the essays submitted to us. Our fully indexed articles have now reached over 40,000 individual article views and around 6,000 article downloads to date. We are open for innovative, deeply researched essays on any aspect of architecture.
